In the Community: Spread Love to the Homeless with Melinda

I first met Melinda about 8 years ago, at that time she seemed shy, quiet but warm and inviting. Over the years we have gotten to know each other better, I even hired her as a photographer for a few of my events (she is an awesome photographer!). One of the things I admire about Melinda is her compassion…well 2 things…I also love her sense of style.  She is always ready to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return. Since I’ve known her, Melinda has worn many hats from being a model, to Calvin Richardson’s manager, a photographer, to an community outreach director for Revolt Charlotte but she has always remained the same and had a genuine concern for others.

a Time to Love Charity Event CharlotteHere is an example of just how compassionate Melinda is, on Valentine’s Day instead of enjoying a romantic date with her boo like most of us she is coordinating an event for the homeless for the 2nd year! Isn’t this awesome…I have to admit I have never stopped to consider the homeless on Valentine’s Day.  The purpose of this event is to spread Love to our neighbors who are homeless.  A hot meal will be provided. She is asking for donations of coats, scarfs, gloves, socks, valentines day gifts, or whatever your heart leads you to bring. If you cannot make the event you can drop off donations at Just Lovely Salon or give online by visiting http://www.revoltcharlotte.com/online-giving.

So I encourage you all to give a little on Valentine’s Day; especially if you are like me and don’t have a boo! If you are interested in hearing a little more about Melinda watch the video below produced by Carletta McMillian.
