Kids get into Bechtler Museum free for spring break

Kids in grades K-12 get into the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art for free now through Sunday, April 12th, 2015. They also get 10% off at the museum store. Accompanying adults get a $2 discount on admission. Please note that the museum is closed Tuesdays. The Bechtler is at 420 South Tryon Street. Visit the Green, across the street, while you’re there. It’s a popular place for families to unwind.

On view now is The Art Books of Henri Matisse, an exhibition drawn from the Bank of America Collection of original illustrations with text by French modernist Henri Matisse, one of the preeminent artists of the 20th century. The exhibition includes prints from some of Matisse’s most significant books as well as artist books from the Bechtler Collection. As part of the Matisse exhibition, the Bechtler has created a family gallery where kids can sketch, read and create magnetic displays.

By the way, there’s also a Groupon for Bechtler Museum Admission right now. It has several options. You won’t be able to combine this with the free/discount offer above, but I wanted to make sure you saw it.
